Maverick Network Solutions, a Wilmington, DE-based company that provides corporations with a wide variety of advanced payment solutions, announces the addition of Jim Stewart and Paul Tomasofsky to its Board of Directors.

Stewart, co-founder and CEO of Epic Research, a direct marketing and investment company, was formerly co-founder and president of Juniper Financial (now Barclays), currently the ninth largest US Visa/MasterCard issuer. While there, Stewart helped raise more than $250 million in venture capital to fund the company’s business activities. Prior to Juniper, Stewart served as executive vice president of credit policy and marketing for First USA, helping make it a successful LBO and ultimately the world’s largest Visa issuer. He also was CEO of Wingspan Bank, a subsidiary of Bank One Corporation. His previous employment includes American Express and Deloitte.

Tomasofsky is president of Two Sparrows Consulting, LLC, which specializes in all aspects of small-value payment systems and has advised numerous industry-leading firms including EPN, First Data, NACHA, PULSE, MoneyGram, HSBC, My Rewards, The Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, BITS, NYCE, NBPCA, Discover, VISA and MasterCard. Tomasofsky’s experience includes expertise in operations analysis, strategic planning, training, competitive analysis, and product development, having consulted extensively on prepaid cards, debit cards, merchant acquiring, bill payment and presentment, reward programs, payments risk management, product positioning, outsourced procurement and operational topics. In 2008, Tomasofsky served as interim Executive Director of the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association. Prior to forming Two Sparrows Consulting, Mr. Tomasofsky held senior positions with NYCE, VISA Interactive and First National Bank of Maryland.
